The cover has evolved from the handmade original ones, into something that will be more appealing on a bookstore shelf. I love it. It has animals that are mentioned in the story, spilling out of a home. A true family zoo. Somedays it doesn't feel any different than mine. Another obstacle in having these published was how to keep the integrity of the books being personalized. It was not a small task. Thanks be to God, who makes all things possible. We have created stickers that allow you to personalize the hair, skin and eye color for the illustrations. The stickers are in an envelope in the back of the book that can later be used for keepsakes. I decided to self-publish when a publisher asked me, “What I would need them for?”. As the books are illustrated, edited and I know of printers. Two years later, I have my done my publishing paperwork with the government and have ISBN’s. Although this feels like an accomplishment, I realize it is just the beginning.
